I grew up in an environment infused with holistic healthcare. Raised as a lacto-vegetarian and with my mother a Nutritionist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, I took an early interest in herbs, yoga, and vegetarian cooking. I was fascinated by my mother’s bulk herb pharmacy and on occasion helped her to demonstrate the painless insertion of acupuncture needles for her wary pediatric patients. Through repeated positive personal experience I developed a strong belief in the power of alternative medicine. As a young student of the violin, I felt the power of sound and harmonic relationships and fostered an intention to some day be able to heal through music. As my music studies progressed through the pursuit of a music performance degree, I became increasingly conscious to information  concerning  music  and  healing. In  2003  I   began taking courses in the healing arts, all with the central purpose of eventually being able to re-tune an organ system and a body, like a violin and an orchestra, back to health.

Music and the healing arts share a symbiotic relationship in my life, each one supporting the growing awareness of the other. My knowledge of anatomy has helped me to work with the natural biomechanics of the body in creating violin playing that is free and natural for myself and for my music students. My awareness and “feel” for vibration and frequency, intuitively guides my approach in working with clients. Massage client’s often comment, “How did you know to go there? It’s like your fingers went right to the spot that was giving me all the problems.” My response is a shrug. I am glad I do not know. My fingers just seem to search out the places where the energy needs to be re-tuned. To me, music and the healing arts are an equal expression of the same energy. Whether I am working with a client or on stage performing, I find equal joy in my participation in the symphony of life and relish my further exploration.
